Queen Victoria Christmas Tree

For the past 13 years, AIRA technicians has been responsible for the installation of the steel support structure of the QVB Christmas Tree. The tallest indoor tree in the world and probably Sydney's most iconic Christmas decoration. AIRA have successfully installed and removed this steel structure on time and without injury for over a decade.

Involving several tons of steel, made up from hundreds of individual steel items and countless high tensile nuts and bolts AIRA has managed this project, all work at height safety, rigging and OH&S issues without incident.

The professionalism of the staff, knowledge of the structure and technical know-how has insured that whilst the decorating company has changed three times, QVB management has insured that AIRA remains the preferred steel erector to be used. 

AIRA has embarked upon a maintenance program for the tree and every year we identify pieces of the tree that require upkeep. Those pieces are then shipped to our facility where we replace broken or miss shaped bits of the frame.

Through our attention to safety we maintain a 100% safety record and intend to continue to do so through our on-going maintenance of the structure.
