Remote Area Wind Farm, Blade Repairs

AIRA were engaged by an overseas blade manufacturer to assist them with conducting warranty repair issues on a number of blades supplied to sites in remote NSW and Queensland.

AIRA were able to mobilise suitably experienced teams and equipment to both these sites at short notice. All OH&S documentation was supplied as part of the mobilisation to conform with the requirements of both Irata International membership requirements, 4801 and site client specific requirements.

In total, AIRA were able to supply 140 man days of labour, across 2 sites with zero injuries to our staff or the accompanying blade techs.

As a result, AIRA has been approached to become the preferred supplier and blade repairer for all minor structural - cosmetic repairs for these blades in Australasia. This will reduce the necessity for companies to incurr the costs of importing specilist skilled labour to conduct these type of repairs. Major structural repairs will still be conducted by overseas blade techs due to the complexity of modern blade design and construction techniques.
