GE - Wind Turbine Maintenance

AIRA are currently working on a project with GE Renewables providing various maintenance works on an onshore Australian windfarm.

Services being carried out include:

• Cleaning: AIRA are carrying out blade, nacelle and tower cleaning to the entire fleet of turbines on site. This project involves complex rigging methods to ensure work is carried out efficiently and safely in an area prone to high winds.
• Maintenance: The AIRA team are also carrying out various maintenance jobs including the inspection and replacement of bolts on turbine yaw decks.
• Rescue Training: The AIRA team were approached by the client to provide rescue training for on-site contractors and staff. This included a demonstration with staff on the safe escorting of casualties down the external of towers. Our technicians escorted the turbine technicians down the tower and managed the safety and rescue provisioning, during this task.

AIRA provided all OH&S documentation inclusive of safety management planning, safe method statement and rescue planning, all of which were created in conjunction with on-site service and safety representatives.
